Jeremy,

The flight went well today and I received the demo I needed on the TIS
as well as the chance to see the TwinStar in action.

I was impressed with Galvin Flying Services and also with Mr. Nishimura.
You are fortunate to have him as an employee.

Many thanks,

Larry

Nick,

Providing feedback on the IFR course...I took the Guaranteed Instrument Course, started in September or so and completed my IFR checkride a couple weeks ago.  sorry its taken a couple weeks to get back to you.

Overall, I was very pleased with the Galvin instruction.

Several points stand out for me:

Quality of equipment - aircraft, simulators all are top notch.  the g1000 sim for the da42, coupled with g1000 aircraft is a huge advantage for instruction, especially for ifr training.  when I was making my decision to get ifr training, I wanted to make sure I could learn and actually fly on glass most of the time...other flight schools have some all glass aircraft, but often this equipment is booked and not available.  Having a sim and multiple da40s with g1000s was a big factor.
Customer Service mindset of all Galvin employees.  Every person at the desk, on the line, and the instructors were all superb in customer service mindset.  all put my needs first and accomodated any dumb questions or concerns with terrific patience and courtesy.  The only frustrations I had were on a couple occaissions not finding the plane topped off in the AM when I had an early flight, and having to wait (one morning nearly an hour) to get topped off so I could get on my way.  this only happened a couple times though.
Structured approach:  Compared to other flight instruction I have taken, Galvin's curriculum based approach and well organized process is a great improvement and confidence builder.  I thought it felt like a proper professional grade instruction program.
Instructors - I worked briefly with Dion Gotti at the start and did the majority of my instruction with Shimon Nishimura.  My experience with both was very good.  Both showed a willingness to get up for lots of early mornings to accomodate my schedule (630 or even 6am sim sessions)....for me as a pretty busy professional, it would have been impossible to get the course done if they'd not been willing to do these morning sessions and be flexible to get sufficient instruction time in.
Stage checks - I thought the stage checks were a great way to make sure you are making the needed progress.  My final stage check with chris actually didn't go very well, and as result got me very focused on the things I needed to get fixed before my real check ride.  My actual check ride went very well...I was well prepared and reasonably confident and it worked out well.
Only con I have is that I perceive Galvin to be a bit higher cost than some alternatives...I would guess 10-15%. but the lower cost alternatives don't seem to have the quality of equipment that galvin provides.
Best indication of my satisfaction is that I am going to continue instruction with you...to start working on getting ifr/twin certified on the da42s.

thanks,

Steve

Mr. Anderson
I met you at the Seattle premier of "One Six Right" and you gave me your card. I am sure that you met a lot of other people that night so I don't expect that you'll remember me :). This letter is overdue.....

I just wanted to let you know how happy I am at Galvins. I have been a Diamond G member for a few years now. I have nothing but praise for everyone that I have worked with. To a person they have been courteous, professional, prompt, attentive, polite. To name a few:

Katie Crown, Bill (at the desk), Nick Frisch, Terry, Mike Oswald (My
current instructor), Bart, Brian Avelar, Shimon, Julie Lionetti, Don
Ulrich, Dion Gotti, Blake, Emmett, and so many others whose names I can't think of right now and/or who have gone on to an airline. Anyone not mentioned is purely by accident. I can't think of everyones name right now :).

I have often wondered if the people that I was talking to knew that I wasn't wealthy :). They treated me like I was their NUMBER ONE customer and they made me feel very special. I am writing this because, working in the public sector, I know how often good deeds go unmentioned and I want to make sure that you know that you have the best crew at Galvins!! I really mean that!! I wish I could think of everyone's name to thank but I can't so, suffice to say, it is almost everyone (I don't think I have met them all, yet).

I could go on and on but I wanted to send this out before I put it off another day.

Sincerely,
Dave Goldberg
