Diamond TwinStars in Flight School Fleet

Since August, 2006, the Flight School at Galvin Flying Services has been making available the amazing Diamond TwinStar for flight training.

N151TS has been seen around the flight line at Galvin since it arrived in early May. Later in the fall, it received a new tail number, N49494. Early this spring, N49494 was joined by N785CM to make two Twin Stars available in our fleet. They have been flying extensively ever since, and we're extremely pleased with the progress we have made in developing world-renowned training curricula and materials for these aircraft.

Checkout requirements for this aircraft are:

Diamond DA-42 TwinStar
        (incl. G-1000 w/ Integrated Avionics)

• Multi-Engine Endorsement
• Galvin Flying Service Checkout
• DA42 Systems Course (1 Day)
     
• If VFR 
        o G1000 Ground School (1 Day)
        o 2 Hours Simulator Time
   If IFR 
        o G1000 Ground School (2 Days)
        o 5 Hours Simulator Time
    
• 5 Hours Make and Model
•  AND one of the following:
      50 hours multi-engine time
        - OR - 
      50 Hours complex with 15 make and model
        - OR -
      Multi-engine Instructor Certificate
